Bo Burnham's Netflix Special »Inside« explores how the pandemic affected his mental health. He approached serious questions through his comedic background in a deeply emotional manner. While watching »Inside«, it felt like a mirror was held in front of me. That's why I decided to dissect Burnham's special and start exploring my own mental health in a subversive love letter to his work.
How the lockdown damaged my mental health
It was a huge challenge to write a script about my feelings as my mind was all over the place. While writing my own short film, I found out a lot about myself. It became self-therapeutic and cathartic. During my self-exploration, I managed to structure my film in three distinctive parts that influence my mental health: The Internet, My Worldview and My Self-Worth.
The main goal of this film was to explore my mind in an honest way and therefore work through my inner struggles.
